Rome, Italy

Pan Europe Asia Conference

2 – 9 October 2020

Rome is the former capital of the Roman Empire, once one of the most powerful empires in the world; the remnants of which can be seen at the stunning sights of the Roman Forum, Pantheon and Colosseum. Rome is also home to the Vatican City, headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church, boasting such sights as St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes.

It was in Italy that the Renaissance began, and then exploded, bringing Europe out the dark ages and influencing countless artists, writers, poets, philosophers, scientists, architects, musicians and aristocrats. Rome, once a city of ancient ruins, became the recipient of great masterpieces as well as cultural and idealogical development. Despite its 3,000 year history and the fall of the Roman Empire, Rome is today a sprawling, cosmopolitan city and has remained globally influential in the areas of art, architecture and culture.

Al fresco Roman feasting is one of the city’s pastimes and Italy’s world-famous cuisine is superlative and delicious. Dine with locals at crowded yet authentic trattorias, enjoy a gelato as you stroll through various piazzas, or indulge in contemporary fine dining at refined Michelin-starred restaurants. The gastronomic options in Rome are limitless
