8.00am to 6.00pm - Champagne Day Tour in Reims
(Exact times is approximate and meeting points is TBC. These will be confirmed when the social agenda is released 8-10 weeks prior to the start of conference)

We are running one of our favourite Social Events to the spectacular Champagne region in France. This event is even more special this year, as we have secured a visit to the caves of Laurent Perrier and a lunch inside these caves, accompanied by their magnificent champagnes – access to this area is rare, so this is a coup for our group!  The caves are caverns made by the Romans millennia ago when they took out the limestone to build Reims. Nowadays they serve as the storage and wine making areas for the Champagne houses.

The day will begin with a TGV train from Paris to Reims, where our local private guide, Marie Pierre will meet us with our private mini bus. We will then drive through this beautiful region to the Champagne house of Laurent Perrier in Tours-sur-Marne. Here we have our special visit – a tour of their production caves, followed by a magnificent lunch within the caves themselves; each course exquisitely matched to Champagnes from this famous Champagne house.

After lunch we will visit the city of Reims and enjoy a guided walking tour of its historical Gothic Notre Dame Cathedral which was heavily bombed during WW2, and subsequently restored to its former glory. There will be more champagne in the afternoon – tasting a Champagne or two from the lesser known Champagne houses, which one doesn’t have access to outside of France.
