Mekong Delta Cruise

Timeless wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong.

 23 March – 1 April 2018

Travel across two of the most beautiful, historic and friendly places in all of Asia — dynamic Vietnam and pastoral Cambodia — connected by the Mekong. Each country possesses its own unique charm and social traditions, its own tragic history and complex past.

We start our journey in Ho Chi Minh City (previously known as Saigon), a city that offers a heady mixture of old and new, before embarking at My Tho. As the lifeblood of South East Asia, the Mekong teems with coloural floating villages and mementos of its French Colonial past.

Observe residents live, work and shop on the water, with villages like Cai Be and Vinh Long home to busy family-run factories and historic colonial houses. Traditional flat-bottomed boats of Vietnam, fill the narrow canals and inlets, carrying passengers, including you, to bustling waterfront markets. Ride a trishaw through towns and listen to the stories of village elders who have seen the many changes in Vietnam.

About the Mekong Delta

A visit to the Mekong Delta is so memorable because of the region’s diversity. Everyday scenes include children riding on the backs of water buffalo or cycling to school through country lanes clad in white ao dai; rice workers stooping in a sea of emerald; market vendors grinning behind stacks of fruit; bright yellow incense sticks drying at the roadside; flocks of storks circling over a sanctuary at dusk; Khmer monks walking mindfully in the shadow of pastel pagodas; locals scampering over monkey bridges or rowing boats on the delta’s maze of channels.

Academic Program and Accreditation

All  sessions are conducted by practitioners and leading academics. However, our program structure is unique to CPE Conferences. Over the last 20 years we have adopted a model that allows us to accommodate local and VIP speakers whom, due to professional demands were unable to confirm their availability, would otherwise be unable to share their international perspective.

In addition to these sessions our Mekong Delta Conference held multiple academic field activities, which allowed our delegates to obtain additional professional knowledge through engaging and location unique outings.
