EUROPE ASIA CONFERENCE
Where the Alps and Apennines cascade into the Mediterranean.
25 June – 2 July 2018
The Italian Riviera is defined by its pastel seaside towns nestled among a coastline of sheer rugged cliffs—including the colourful villages of Cinque Terre and the stylish resort towns such as Portofino, Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure.
Using Santa Margherita as our base, we will explore Liguria including the five fishing villages that are Cinque Terre: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. A UNESCO heritage site, Cinque Terre is rooted in antiquity, with the oldest of the villages founded in AD 643. The villages have slowly carved their way into the cliffs ever since.
Liguria has an excellent public transport system and getting around by bus is often a convenient choice when exploring the bigger towns in Liguria as well as hopping from town to town. Santa Margherita is a short hop to both Portofino and Rapallo with regular services running daily. In fact, it's only a 5 minute bus ride from the Excelsior Palace Hotel in Rapallo to the Continental Hotel in Santa Margherita.
The conference hotel is the Continental Hotel in Santa Margherita. We also have availability at the Metropole Hotel and the Excelsior Palace Hotel. We highly recommend contacting us now if you want to secure accommodation for this conference as it's filling quickly.
Interested in an exclusive air deal? CPE Travel can also combine your hotel accommodation with very competitive airfares for a complete conference package tailored to your requirements.
Proposed Networking Events
The academic and professional program has always been the centrepiece of our conferences, but an equally important part is the networking activities we organise outside the formal program. Over the years many delegates have forged professional links with other practitioners arising out of meeting for the first time at the conferences. The informal networks established have led to a mutual referring of clients and, through being aware of other practitioners’ specialties; practitioners have gained access to professional resources which previously would have been either inaccessible or unknown. Delegates have also reported that the informal interaction with other delegates has led to the cross-pollination of ideas, exchange of methodologies and an enhancement of professional camaraderie among fellow practitioners. Many delegates are now coming to these conferences as individuals because of the camaraderie and networking events associated with the conferences.
