NORTH SOUTH CONFERENCE
One of the most historic cities in the world.
26 July – 2 August 2018
We are pleased to announce Budapest as a new venue for the annual North South Conference. The ‘Queen of the Danube’ is one of the most historic cities in the world featuring an eclectic mix of grand architecture and hipster design.
Awaiting you is a treasure trove of architectural delights covering baroque, neoclassical, eclectic and art nouveau eras; and is home to undoubtedly the most beautiful parliamentary building in the world. Budapest has also embraced its ruins by creating romkocsma or ‘ruin pubs’, with nooks filled with acoustic jam sessions, graffiti, art, markets and more. Every weekend in summer, the Margaret Island Open-air Stage produces a spectacle of events including opera, ballet, classical and pop music.
Visit the Central Market for traditional fare, including the famous gulyás (goulash), be one with the city’s cafe culture, enjoy some time one of the many Turkish- style thermal bath houses built in the 16th and 17th century, or stroll across the Széchenyi Chain Bridge and take in the romantic views of the Danube River. The best part? Everything is affordable in Budapest.
Our conference hotel is the famed Corinthia Hotel. We have secured exclusive conference rates for this event and can also combine them with very competitive airfares for a complete conference package tailored to your requirements.
The academic and professional program has always been the centrepiece of our conferences, but an equally important part is the networking activities we organise outside the formal program. Over the years many delegates have forged professional links with other practitioners arising out of meeting for the first time at the conferences. The informal networks established have led to a mutual referring of clients and, through being aware of other practitioners’ specialties; practitioners have gained access to professional resources which previously would have been either inaccessible or unknown. Delegates have also reported that the informal interaction with other delegates has led to the cross-pollination of ideas, exchange of methodologies and an enhancement of professional camaraderie among fellow practitioners. Many delegates are now coming to these conferences as individuals because of the camaraderie and networking events associated with the conferences.
